Nail Hacks: Tips For Painting Your Nails Using Revlon Nail Polish
Beautiful nails are always in, but it is not always possible to get them, especially when you try to paint your own nails. We have all been in that position where the nail polish looks smudged, too thick, or simply not done right. Below, we will go over some nail hacks and tricks to help you get the best looking nails from the comfort of your own home.
1. A Base Coat is a Must
You ALWAYS need to use a base coat on your nails before you begin painting them. This is because the base will provide something for the polish to adhere to. If you do not have a base coat, you may stain your nails with a dark colour or your nail polish will begin to chip off soon after you apply it.
2. Don't Rush the Drying Process
While it may seem like it takes forever for your nails to dry, you do not want to rush the process. In addition, you want to stray away from nail polishes that claim to be quick drying. The reason behind this is two-fold. First, the nail polish may begin to set before you are done applying the paint, which will leave undesirable results. The second reason is because these quick drying polishes often dehydrate your nails and leave them brittle.
3. Let the Polish Guide You
Instead of guiding the polish yourself, let the polish guide you. When you dip your brush into the nail polish, get a nice size droplet of paint on the end and then apply it to the nail. You should only need to wipe the paint two to three times for an even coat. The longer you sit there and ?ÐÂpaint?и the nail, the worse the polish will look when it dries.
4. Don't Be Afraid of Cuticle Oil
Cuticle oil is an essential in any nail salon and should be in your makeup bag as well. You can apply cuticle oil as much as you like and it helps to rehydrate your cuticles and keep them soft and smooth.
You can also apply a quick swipe of cuticle oil over top of your dry, painted nails as it will provide them with a soft sheen and protect them if you nick them.
5. Avoid Hot Water
If you have freshly painted nails, avoid hot water as it will cause your nail beds and polish to expand, therefore, cracking it in the process. Using lukewarm water is the best option to prevent any damage to the nail polish.
6. Don't Forget the Top Coat
You never want to forget the top coat of paint either. The top coat is responsible for locking the polish in place and protecting the paint from any chips or breaks throughout the day.
If you are ready to apply your beautiful Revlon nail polish, now is the time to do it. You can use the above tips to help you get the right look and avoid the common mishaps that can occur when painting your nails.
